Zeth gnarled his teeth as Jaess first scream of joy was overwhelming, he loved the sound of her happiness, but hated the fact that it was Drey giving it to her. He had turned his back on them when the little brat had said.
“You forget who you are in the presence off old man. You might have years on my but your quarrelling with a Prince. You are so far out of your league its laughable to me, I'll do what ever this one damned wants me to do, even if it means I'm hoping out of the window and 4am. Whatd'ya say Darl' ? “
He had pushed the right buttons with her, she was loving every beat of it, unfortunately the beat that was a stake was her heartbeat.
“You have no worry for that luv, your thinking the wrong royalty.”
Had she been worried about royalty? He smirked oh well that was always a way in should it come to that.
Zeth was not impressed, and he frowned, but it looked like his little princess had found herself a prince, at least for as long as it took Zeth to get him away from her. He wasn’t really paying attention when her second scream reached him, but this one was filled with pain, and if he could he would have turned pale. He turned to face Jaess and saw her lying in the snow passed out, he frowned, that bastard had not had her in his arams for more than a few seconds and he had already hurt her, Zeth ran towards Jaess, he had to fix her first, then kill the bastard. She was gone, no memory nothing, she was totally gone, something was very wrong, he had only seen her like this once before, but it could not be?
The bastard had a look on his face as if he was innocent, but Zeth knew he had to be the reason to her pain and unconsciousness. He had to be, Zeth would fix her, and make her understand that the brat was endangering her and him. She would understand and follow him.
Somehow the little bastard got between her and Zeth this would not end well, and he could only hope the only one dying tonight was the spoiled prince.
“This is what happens when you meddle with human minds old man. I can smell her in you... your related too her... ”
Maybe, it was true he had once triggered her memory as he had tried to kill Nat, given her a stroke, but he had fixed it before she had gotten permanent damage, and now this brat was lecturing him? He got ready for a fight, he could only hope the little brat would move out of the way, he had to fix her, as soon as possible. He was not entirely happy about the fact that the little piece of shit had figured out she was his kin, but this would all be dealt with later. Right now only one thing mattered. He ran towards the youngster, he gathered all his force and when he reached him he hit him so hard he flew across the road, but Zeth had forgotten one thing, the electricity, so he was thrown back too, but he was on his feet faster giving Zeth time to get down beside Jaess and feel how bad it was. He kept his focus on Jaess but at the same time at Drey.
“Jessie baby, stay with me, its okay I got you. Just don’t do this to me, I’ll let you have a little fun with him, just stay with me.”
His voice sounded so strange to him, this was not his usually voice, this was his panicking voice filled with pain, he couldn’t even remember the last time he had used it. He would kill that kid just as soon as Jaess was back, he just had to find her weak spot right now, there it was. He put his hands on her head, holding her softly as if he was scared to break more on his favorite toy. His hands felt her warmth, and he knew that in a few seconds his hands would be warm from healing her. His hands did their magic, he could tell it had been bad, a few more seconds and she had been gone for ever.
He frowned as he let her down in the snow, as he healed her, the snow around her melted away as his healing touch came with a curtain warmth. This was not your normal stroke, no he had caused it, he was angry with himself, well looked like he was just as bad news for Jaess as the royal hound was. He closed his eyes and “saw” her injury before fixing it, making sure there were no weak spots left.
He moved away slowly, he wanted to be the first thing she saw, but he was quite clear that she wouldn’t be happy with him in her face this soon again, no matter what he had done for her. He looked at the brat, this meant war, he knew it, but he had to keep the last of his kin out of court. Even with her knowledge. He just needed a split second where the brat wasn’t paying attention, and he would make his move. He would not fool around with Jaess anymore, only if it was for her own good, namely if she ended up in court. He knew that claiming her as his mate, would get him killed if he was exposed, and meddling with her mind would most likely be something the court would keep an eye on if Drey got to them first.
He looked at Drey with hate, but he moved away, giving Drey room for either attacking him, or getting Jaess into the warmth of the pub, either way he had lost this round. But that didn’t mean he had lost the war.
