She walked into the pub, looked around before her eyes settled on the quite large man at the counter. She walked over to him and sat beside him, ordering vodka on the rocks. She didn’t look at the man beside her. She was relaxed, in her normal clothes, which meant almost nothing on. Her hair all messed up, when the bartender came back with her drink she added.
“And a drink on me to the gentleman beside me.”
She knew almost nothing of this man, only that he was a bodyguard, she was not planning on flirting with him but she was planning on him to get her inside the court. She kept her mind on her drink, now she wasn’t planning on getting drunk but the fact that she was in a bar, would just raise questions if she didn’t have at least one drink. Beside she needed to unwind, she knew the man next to her could smell her fear, so she hoped that the drink would make her calm down just a little.
She zipped to it as the bartender served another drink to the man beside her, now she knew his name was Kurt Damon, and she knew he was a professional bodyguard, so if he agreed on taking her to the court, she would be safe, he looked like a man that could pack a few pounces before going down. She thought of her fathers plans, how was she doing this, convincing the court to join other courts just to overthrow the bloody vampires. This would not be easy, but she really didn’t want to use her powers to this. Getting an alliance was one thing, asking for others to join a war, that would most likely cost them all their lives was something entirely else. Beside she knew that the courts in between had their own issues.
There were different families that would have to put aside their own private wars if this was to succeed. She let her fingers run over the top of the glass, as she waited for Kurt to realize that she had offered him something to drink, maybe she had been wrong in assuming he would be her best choice, but Akin had said he was the one that would get her in and out, without a scratch, and she intended to make sure he did. She could feel his pain, but she had never had much empathy so she didn’t quite understand how much he was suffering. She only knew why.
She didn’t say anything, she was here to make friends, but she was scared of wolves, in Norway the wolves were hunting and preying on the cats, and although Akin had told her it was different in the UK, she wasn’t completely convinced. She would just have to take her chances. What had Akin told her about Kurt, he had lost his life-mate, now she couldn’t even begin to imagine what that would feel like, since she had never found her own mate, and she wasn’t planning on finding him anywhere soon. She would not use illusion on him, she would be honest, and if he tried to rip her to pieces she would have to change, and shred him into cocktail snacks. Only problem was, he was really big, and a wolf, a bodyguard, would most definitely have a few tricks up his sleeves.
She zipped again, waiting, she had all the time in the world for him to notice the drink. Or nor really but she was ahead, so if it took her a few days to gain his confidence so be it. She could do this, she only hoped she didn’t stink of fear, and if she did that he would not take offence of her. She would explain to him the ways of Norway so that he hopefully wouldn’t take offence of her fears. She would of course leave out the part of her hunting the wolves back home that would for sure not sit well with him. She sighed as she waited, she would not rush him.
So she zipped on her drink once more.

The music was annoying but that didn't matter. What mattered was that they served drinks here. Kurt din't really care where he was just so long as there was something decent to drink. To be honest, Kurt didn't really care about music, he just preferred stuff that allowed him to hear himself think. Not that he was thinking much at the moment. He hadn't had much to do recently and the boredom was killing him. He had spent the last few nights sitting in an selection of bars and clubs drinking and trying to think of nothing in particular. Today he had been doing quite well at both for a while.
Until someone walked in and sat next to him. She smelled of were... and fear. This set him thinking. If she was afraid there must be a reason for that fear, and that reason could be that something was after her. It was a long shot but if they followed her in here he would finally get some action. He thought about the court, not much had happened for a while really. No-one had been in need of protection, or at least not from him. He wasn't sure what was going on at the courts at the moment but whatever was happening meant there was nothing for him to do.
He was so wrapped up in his thoughts that he didn't notice that the girl had ordered him a drink. It took him a few moments to notice even when the drink had been placed in front of him. When he finally did notice though, he looked over to her with a questioning expression on his face, wondering why she had done so. "If you're hoping to get on my good side that won't help. If there's something you want you're better off just asking. By the look of you you're a little worried about something." By now she didn't seem as fearful as when she first sat down but it was still noticeable, only just though.
Whatever she wanted, even if she just thought he was being lonely and was being nice, it was better than just sitting around by himself doing nothing. A crappy conversation was better than nothing at all.

She was surprised when he finally did speak to her. She almost jumped straight into the air. Heart pounding, this was so not like her, but then again she had not staked out the place nor him, so she was entitled to be a bit jumpy. His voice was surprisingly comforting and she nodded, zipping once more to calm her nerves. Dogs, she was a cat, and cats and dogs didn’t per say get along, not in Norway not in many countries, but they didn’t in the UK. She looked at him for a second she couldn’t help herself looking terrified as if he would attack her right there in the club. She giggled nervously.
“A little might be an understatement.”
She grabbed her glass, empting it all and making a new order before looking at the man beside her.
“So Kurt, yes I know who you are, I am the Norwegian ambassador from the royal cat family. To be honest, and I will, you’re the one that I am afraid of.”
She grabbed her glass before starting another song inside her head, this time Evanscene, with sweet sacrifice, somehow she found it quite fitting. In a few moments she could be chewed out be a wolf.
“Fear is only in our minds, Taking over all the time. Fear is only in our minds but it's taking over all the time.
You poor sweet innocent thing. Dry your eyes and testify. You know you live to break me. Don't deny. Sweet sacrifice.”
She sighed. Making sure her words had sunk in. She had this idea that wolves were not to bright, she had been taught that. So she waited just a few more seconds. Just to be sure, beside the music was awfully loud, but she was not moving away, she was somewhat safe here.
“I am in dire need to approach your court, but I have never been in Britain before, and there lack the knowledge on how to get in touch with the court, since in my land cats and wolves are at war, I must confess that I am somewhat scared.”
She stopped talking, not sure if she was going to fast, Gabby was hunting so she had no one to calm her down, and she had foolishly denied her guards to follow her, she would have to be upfront and honest, and the best way to this was coming alone and unarmed. She noticed that she had held her breathe once more, so she forced the air out and in with another mouthful. She zipped her drink, and made a mental note to slow down or she would get drunk before her business was done with.
“Anyway, like I tried to say, I need someone, like you to introduce me and guard me should my appearance at the court not be successful.”
She looked at him, trying to read him, but he was a closed book in a foreign langue that she just didn’t know. She was starting to get a little nausea as she had no control of her fear, and the alcohol did nothing to help her. She was strung out, and she could only hope that Akin was right about this wolf. She calmed herself down once more, as she looked at the stranger in front of her, well she knew where the court was, but the rest was true, she was just as scared of wolves as she was of elementals, which she had by the way put last on her to go list. She needed allies, and fast. If they should be ready for an upcoming war against the leeches she would have to get the allies as fast as she could, so they would all have sufficient training and weapons. This was her goal from the start. Norway had all but the men and women for this. They had over the last few centuries gathered gold and gems to buy out more than three weapon dealers. They were so to speak the sugar-daddy, of the were’s.
“So if you need time to think it over or go back to your court and counsel, please do I will be at the hotel, I’m sure you’re quite able to track me down.”
She didn’t mean to mock him, but as she said the last part she knew that she might have offended him. She gave him a shy smile. She was afraid again.

She seemed nervous when he spoke to her. It was barely noticeable but Kurt had become quite adept at noticing the subtle changes in people. He spent quite a lot of time standing to the side in the courts or wherever he was needed as someone went about their business. Kurt wasn't usually needed so he was just supposed to stand there until he was needed. No-one really noticed that while he was standing here he was constantly assessing the situation, observing how those around him were behaving. He had become quite skilled at reading peoples emotions over the years he'd been doing this. He noticed the slight changes, but only just.
The changes became more noticeable as she turned to face him. For a moment is was obvious she was scared. He briefly wondered what had gotten her so worried. It seemed almost like she was running from someone or had to do something she really didn't want to do.
“A little might be an understatement.”
Well that was easy. He hadn't expected her to admit that she was nervous. Not many people would. Her reply was preceded by a small nervous giggle. Was she embarrassed at being nervous? She must want something from him though or she probably wouldn't be bothering to buy him a drink.
“So Kurt, yes I know who you are, I am the Norwegian ambassador from the royal cat family. To be honest, and I will, you’re the one that I am afraid of.”
Well this was interesting. Kurt turned so he was facing the ambassador slightly. This sounds like something he would be interested in. He wasn't aware of the situation in the rest of the world, he wasn't even entirely sure what was going on in England at the moment. Things could change so fast. He watched as she took another drink. He took a while to think about what she had said. How did she know him? He wasn't surprised, he was often recommended by people in the court. What was surprising was that she was afraid of him. Kurt could look quite frightening but this woman was beyond that, she was really quite scared.
"How did you find out about me?" he asked. there was more he wanted to know but he decided it would be best to see what she wanted him for first, that might answer some of them.
“I am in dire need to approach your court, but I have never been in Britain before, and there lack the knowledge on how to get in touch with the court, since in my land cats and wolves are at war, I must confess that I am somewhat scared. Anyway, like I tried to say, I need someone, like you to introduce me and guard me should my appearance at the court not be successful.”
Well that was interesting. Kurt hadn't imagined that the weres would ever fight amongst themselves. It seemed so strange, incomplete. The wolves were the stronger, they were the better fighters. The cats had mental powers, they were generally smarter. Together they made a strong force. Divided, however, it was amazing they hadn't been wiped out. There were surely vamps there as well, or had they been driven off before the weres turned on each other? He wanted to ask her this but thought it better to find out exactly what she wanted first. For all he knew she could be trying to bring her war over here by taking out a wolf in the court.
"War? Why?" he asked. This was something that he wanted to know her views on for the safety of the court as well as for himself. "And what do you want with the court? If you know who I am you'll also know that as part of my job I can't just let you walk into the court without knowing what you are going to do once you get in." He couldn't see any way her appearance would end up with violence but even if he did he wouldn't side against his court, especially when the person he'd be protecting admitted to being at war with the wolves where she was from.
“So if you need time to think it over or go back to your court and counsel, please do I will be at the hotel, I’m sure you’re quite able to track me down.”
He didn't need time to think it over yet, he needed more information. He didn't know whether she expected him to organise her appearance in the court but he didn't have the ability to get her in on his own. He would, however, be able to get in contact with someone who could. He would also be able to guard her if she got an appearance, though he couldn't see her needing any real protection.

"How did you find out about me?"
That was a legit question, she wasn’t sure he knew who Akin was, but if he did, well then this should be easy.
“Akin our war counselor, he told me about you, and rumor has it, that you’re the best at your line of work, beside he is somewhat my boss, so I do as I’m told.”
She felt exposed here, and the music was loud, but she kept her eyes on the man in front of her, he looked reliable, and he was a bunch of muscles, he was compact, and she really doubted that it was fat, beside she had never encountered a fat were, of any kind. Oh well she wasn’t sure it was enough, but if he wanted more info, he would have to ask more specifically.
"War? Why? And what do you want with the court? If you know who I am you'll also know that as part of my job I can't just let you walk into the court without knowing what you are going to do once you get in."
She grinded her teeth, of course Akin would send her to someone absolutely clueless about the war outside UK. She turned her attention to the glass in her hands, but she didn’t take another zip, she just sat there trying to find a polite way to tell him about the wars outside the boarders.
“You really don’t know?” She sighed deeply before turning to face the wolf. “In many foreign countries there are war between the race’s even between the were’s. I have been told this is not the norm here. But yes I have fought and killed wolves before, so I have no idea how your court will greet me. I know you’re working for the court, hence that is why I have come to you, I need someone to go to the court and announce my presences. What am I going to do when I get inside?”
Kate held a pause as she knew the next part might get her killed, maybe not by Kurt, but if there was any kind of vampire supporter in here listening in, she would have written her own death sentence right there.
“Well my business with the court, is actually war, no not between us, but my King, “ She made damn sure she didn’t say her father. “Wants to overthrow the British vampire court once and for all, so I am here to gather allies, then Akin will take over since he is a war counselor, and he has the brains to organize a surprise attack, that would for sure kill of any kind of vampire with in the boarders of UK. This is why I have to approach your court. I will need some kind of protection, to reassure my safety, and if you would take my job offer, I would greatly appreciate your company and guardians as I approach the rest of the courts here in UK. Of course I know this is a lot to take in so take your time, I can not guarantee your safety in any court, since I have no idea who are loyal to the vampire court. But I can promise a lot of action.”
She had forgotten to breathe as she had pitched her sales speech. Now she had to wait, she looked at her glass, the ice was long gone, but she didn’t really mind, she would probably not even drink this. If she did it would be when she left, and right now she needed the crowd for safety, as long as she didn’t know if Kurt would accept her offer or turn it down, she would stay here in the safety of the human crowd, she was almost sure he wouldn’t attack her if he and the wolves court were indeed allies of the vampire court.
She needed to calm down her self, so she did her little music trick. And just to make it a little harder she picked a song she had only heard once before.
“I’ll be the late night lady you won’t recognise, I’m a chameleon I’m always in disguise, I’d read your future but it’s written in the past, Take a good look, might be your last. Don’t try to show me, Cause you don’t know me, Stay away. I can be wilder than the wind, 119 miles an hour, I’m in a whole other dimension, Dancing doubles on the floor, You think I’m crazy, A little bit hazy, But I’m stone, cold, sober.”
She didn’t notice that she used her nail to keep the beat, and honestly she didn’t care, she was calm again, and still breathing that had to be a good sign. She looked at the wolf and smiled. It was his call, she could only wait.

“Akin our war counselor, he told me about you, and rumor has it, that you’re the best at your line of work, beside he is somewhat my boss, so I do as I’m told.”
So he'd been recommended by a war counsellor... He must be doing well if foreign war counselors knew of him. He didn't know how this guy collected his information but he seemed to be well informed. It might be interesting to meet this Akin. But if there was a war between wolves and cats then it might be difficult. Kurt didn't know whether he was the best but he had never allowed anyone under his protection to die, unless the court wanted them dead that is.
“You really don’t know?”
She gave a deep sigh before continuing. It sounded a little like the sigh you would give before explaining something obvious or easy to understand to a really stupid person. Kurt didn't know whether to make anything of it. He didn't like that she seemed to think he was stupid but didn't want to cause her to leave without visiting the courts. She could have important information.
She paused before continuing, as though she was unsure whether to reveal her plans to him. She might have had a good reason for not trusting him, there may be many reasons, they might not even include him at all. But Kurt was still suspicious. It was his job to be suspicious of people trying to get close to the court.
“Well my business with the court, is actually war, no not between us, but my King wants to overthrow the British vampire court once and for all, so I am here to gather allies, then Akin will take over since he is a war counselor, and he has the brains to organize a surprise attack, that would for sure kill of any kind of vampire with in the boarders of UK. This is why I have to approach your court."
This grabbed Kurt's attention. Overthrow the vampires... This was something Kurt wanted, and also didn't want. If the werecat court was gathering allies for an attack on the vampires then surely the were court in Britain would help. If they had the help of more weres they could hopefully defeat the vampires. It wouldn't be easy but it would be possible. And it would give Kurt a chance to finally strike back at them and, if all goes to plan, die in the process. He saw some possible problems and catches with the plan though.
"I will need some kind of protection, to reassure my safety, and if you would take my job offer, I would greatly appreciate your company and guardians as I approach the rest of the courts here in UK. Of course I know this is a lot to take in so take your time, I can not guarantee your safety in any court, since I have no idea who are loyal to the vampire court. But I can promise a lot of action.”
This caused warning bells to go off in Kurt's head. What did she mean by 'the rest of the courts'? Did she mean the elementals. That was not something Kurt could see himself doing. Of course, she could just mean that she wanted to see both the wolves and the cats. He wasn't about to jump to conclusions so he decided to ask some more questions. Had she said that all in one breath?
"So you want to defeat the vampires over here? I'm assuming that there'll be some catch to this. After we've overthrown the British vamps you're going to ask us to go after the ones in your area or something like that? Or is this out of the goodness of your hearts?" The last sentence was said with a hint of sarcasm. "And what do you mean when you say the rest of the courts? I hope you're not planning on walking into the elemental's court and trusting some British wolf to die trying to get you out of there alive. They don't exactly have any love for us weres."
While he didn't want to make this conversation drag on longer than it had to he wanted to make sure he had enough facts to make a good decision on whether or not to guard this ambassador. A winnable war against the Vampires was tempting, but Kurt was still a little nervous about what she would want in return, and who they'd be fighting alongside. He also wondered whether the Norwegian wolves would help them or not. It would go much easier if hey had their support.

"So you want to defeat the vampires over here? I'm assuming that there'll be some catch to this. After we've overthrown the British vamps you're going to ask us to go after the ones in your area or something like that? Or is this out of the goodness of your hearts?"
Well to be honest it wasn’t out of the good of their heart, at least not for Kate, she knew that the rogue vampires that had killed her sister’s were among the royal court in the UK, but why her father had suddenly wanted to go to war against the strongest and oldest of all court, Kate really didn’t know, she hadn’t asked because that was not her place, she was to introduce the plan for the different courts and get as many allies as possible.
"And what do you mean when you say the rest of the courts? I hope you're not planning on walking into the elemental's court and trusting some British wolf to die trying to get you out of there alive. They don't exactly have any love for us weres."
She nodded in agreement about the love, but never the less to be successful she would have to go to the elementals, and she wasn’t looking forward to it either, her previous experience had learned her that humor wasn’t the right way to go with them, but her father and Akin did not accept that she wasn’t to comfortable with them so she would have to suck it up. she looked at the wolf beside her as she smiled.
”Well, I have to go the elemental court, but of course you don’t have to follow me, and you could just accept the part with you court, and leave it at that, I do understand that you don’t want do die for a cause that another court from a foreign land that wants to overthrow the vampires. But I don’t have to reply now, you can sit and think about it, and if you feel like consulting your court in this, then please do so, and at the same time I would appreciate it if you would let them know that I was on my way.”]
She ordered another drink to Kurt, as she zipped hers. She was not scared any longer, but she did understand the wolf, she wasn’t too happy about having to face the elemental court one bit, beside it wasn’t one court as far as Akin had told her it was several, so she would actually have to do this more than once. She wasn’t sure if Kurt had more questions so she stay, listening to the awful music, it was too loud and just a bit too harsh, she had never really gotten the metal idea, nor the rap or hip hop, she knew her music was totally outdated but that was life. She had been brought up to rock and pop, and that was what she liked.
She looked at Kurt before asking him if he needed to know anything more, if not she would leave him to his thoughts and get out of here, her head was aching by now.
