force us,
They will stop
degrading us,
They will not
control us,
We will be victorious.
Hold the press!!
Don't go wasting all your applause just yet, save some for Hannah. They have been treading the floorboards for exactly 18 years and they have been totally female!! S/he has been in the spotlight roughly 6 months, and they're loving it!!
And now for the good stuff!!
We have a new kid on the block, going by the name of Roxanne O’Hara, but only their mother calls them that; you can call them Rox or Roxi! Rumour has it this dudette is a totally hoopy frood; so Mum's, lock up your sons!! They've been cruising the streets of Boston, UK for 126 years now, after coming into this god forsaken world on November 27th.
Here's the vitals!!
Race:: Werecat
Special Abilities:: Heat manipulation This means that she can move heat from one object to another. This is a standard ability for Were’s, but through her strong empathetic link to Loki, she is able to manipulate fire, but only when he is around. She cannot create fire, and so needs Loki to either throw a flame ball at her or to use the matches or lighter she carries around with her.
Force Fields This is pretty standard for Werecats. Roxi can create a forcefield that is invisible to the naked eye and stops any one attacking her via abilities. It is, however, useless if they wish to physically attack her. She can also stretch her Force Field to cover another person, but it makes it weaker.
Family:: Family of the Fallen
Position in the Family:: She has been adopted by The Fuoco Tribe into the Andvari‘s family.
The physical!!
The hair:: Roxi’s hair is long, brown and very very curly. If she doesn’t use products after washing it, it tends to go in an afro, making it look like she’s just come out of a tumble drier.
The eyes::Roxi has dark amber eyes that are often mistaken for chocolate from a distance.
The body::She is what would class to a human as fairly short, measuring 5 foot 2. This, however, makes her very short for a Were.
The style:: To make up for her lack of height, Roxi is pretty much always in heels. Thanks to her Supernatural balance, however, she wears them as if they were trainers. She is normally seen wearing t-shirts and skinny jeans, occasionally stealing one of Loki’s leather jackets even though they drown her. When she is out on the town, she wears more … revealing clothes; short skirts, hot pants, barely there tops … never together though, she has more common sense than that.
The looks::
Roxi has a few different looks that she wears depending on her mood. She always takes ten hours to get ready for anything and often has to ask for help from either Loki or Sylvia. She tries her best to fit in with the humans but sometimes it’s hard to do, especially if Loki has helped choose her outfit. Even though she can’t always see it, she is very attractive which of course, again thanks to Loki’s choices, gets men staring at her, and sometimes the women. This either makes her extremely uncomfortable or giddy, depending on how much she’s had to drink.
The mental!!
The likes:: Loki and his family, her lighter and matches, music and art
The dislikes:: The House of Kavanagh, incorrect spelling and grammar (don’t get her started on text talk … ), Modern Art
The hopes:: She’d like for this whole damn war to be over and for people to stop dying for no reason.
She wants to be able to start a family one day, but can’t for fear of them being punished for her brothers so-called crime.
She would love her brothers killers to be brought to justice, but would never actually do it.
The fears:: That the Royals will find her and kill her too. That they’ll kill The Andvari’s for hiding her for so long. That the Family of the Fallen wont succeed and she’ll always live under someone’s power who has no interest in anyone but themselves.
The talents:: Roxi can is highly musical and as such can play any instrument, sing and dance. She could quite easily take it to a professional level, but the thought hasn’t ever occurred to her; she wants to hide from the Kavanaghs. She’s just happy trying to convince Loki to join a garage band.
She’s an amazing artist and photographer and has often done pieces for the Advaris as thanks for letting her stay.
She’s also very skilled with martial arts, including those with weapons, thanks to the agility, grace and balance that she gets from her Race.
The bad habits:: When she’s anxious, she tends to obsessively light matches or her lighter. If she hasn’t got them with her for some strange reason (normally because Loki has taken them off he), she’ll tap her fingers on her leg or click her fingers, anything to keep her hands occupied.
She runs her hand through her hair and fluffs it repeatedly, never conscious of it. When she does realise this, she flattens it again.
When she’s hacked off, she tends to his, much to Loki’s amusement.
The attitude::
Like her animal counterpart, Roxi is naturally rather timid, but will fight like a demon when she needs to protect her family or herself. And, thanks to Loki, that part of her is more dominant. She’s slowly becoming more confident and playful, often teasing Loki over his various obsessions.
On the rare occasions when Loki isn’t around, she reverts back to her shy persona, not actually able to look people in the eye.
The rest!!
The parents:: Mary-Anne and James O’Hara, Mum is a Wolf, Dad is a Cat, both deceased
The siblings:: Twin brother, Richard (Rikki) O’Hara, werewolf. Loki Abdvari, Elemental
The others:: All her family was killed by the Royals
The social class:: Middle Class
The history::
Roxi was bought up in The House of the Moon by her parents, Mary-Anne and James O’Hara. She grew up thinking that the Weres should reign over all the Creatures of the Night and that they were supreme, as every one did.
By the time she was 70, however, she was starting to see the cracks in the Moonlit Court. Every where, there was in fighting masquerading as politics and petty rivalry. Her parents, both prominent members of the court and highly respected lawyers, were ridiculed for their interracial relationship and the fact even their twin children were not the same race.
Even though the relationship was perfectly legal, Rox and her family was black marked, stopping her twin brother, Rikki, from climbing the ranks in Court even though he showed immense promise and eventually surpassed this elders in power. Always bitter over this, Rikki was determined to leave and take his family with him to The Free Court. He just never had the leverage he needed to do this.
Eventually, when they were 96, he found it in the form of a forbidden Life Mate.
Maria de Claude was a member of The House of Blood, her House three below that of the Royals. Roxi never understood how they met and only ever knew of her name and position through the psychic link her and her brother had as twins. She tried to persuade Rikki to leave her, convince him that there would be another out there for him, but to no avail. They decided to run away together to The Free Court where they would surely be protected. So what if no one had ever escaped before, things would be different for them.
They arranged to meet up at ‘their place’ one night with all their possessions and flee. He promised that live would be better for them and agreed to send word as soon as they had settled down somewhere, promising that he’d be back for her and their parents.
Rox waited for years whilst both Courts searched for them. The fact they’d escaped capture for so long only made them search harder and eventually, they were found, never having made it to The Free Court. Maria, the love of Rikki’s life, managed to persuade her Family that she had been captured by him and was welcomed back with open arms, whilst the Dark Court called for her lovers blood.
The Moonlit throng never believed her story, but all agreed that he needed to be made an example of, to both Courts.
Rikki was dragged by his hair into the Great Hall by The Executioner, a Prince from the House of Kavanagh, in front of the assembled Moonlit Court and an ambassador for The Vampryes. He was flogged until his skin was peeling from his back whilst his parents and sister were held back. Mary-Anne eventually managed to break free of her restraints and changed, trying to save her son, James quickly following her. Roxi tried her hardest to follow as well, but the two guards who had held her parents had come to help keep her where she was.
Her parents managed to fight their way to where Rikki lay barely conscious and, whilst her mother tried to comfort him, her father fought the guards who had come to take them back. He fought with tooth and nail, managing to kill a few guards, but was eventually bought down by the Executioner. He bound and gagged him and Mary-Anne, forcing them to watch as he killed their son.
He walked calmly over to Rox and asked what he should do to her parents and, when she didn’t answer, he turned to the rest of the Court and asked them. The vote was unanimous and so her parents were put to death. Her mother was the first to go whilst her father watched in horror, then it was his turn. Before he was killed, he was allowed his final words which Roxi would never forget ”I’m sorry.”
When the show was finally over, the guards threw her to the floor where she crawled over to them. She sat with them as the heat left their bodies, trying helplessly to keep them warm with her powers.
Eventually, the guards came for her and threw her out of the Court onto the street, where she stayed for months. When she was finally able to think straight, she found her way to the Free Court and begged to be taken in. Thankfully, they didn’t ask any questions, it was probably all over town what had happened, leaving them no doubt as to who she was.
She was sent to a small family who had expressed interest in adopting the next waif or stray to cross the threshold. She spent the first few days locked in her room, trying to come to terms with what had happened to her. The family that had taken her in were understanding and didn’t ask too many questions, though they did insist on her eating.
A few weeks later, after she’d done nothing but mope around, the son cornered her and bombarded her with questions. After a few hours of this, Roxi eventually broke down and told him the whole story. She could feel that he was uncomfortable and didn’t have any clue what to do with a hysterical woman, but she couldn’t help herself. Then she felt what seemed like molten lava wrap itself around her in a hug. Truly grateful for her heat manipulation, she threw all the heat from her skin into the fire (causing some serious damage) and hugged him back, needing the comfort.
From then on the pair were inseparable. Loki took Roxi under her wing, trying (and succeeding) to toughen her up a bit, whilst Rox kept him out of trouble (some of the time). Over the next few years, Rox formed a strong emotional bond with him and as such is able to draw some of his power, taking her heat manipulation to fire manipulation.
This is fairly standard, but what was shocking about their relationship was that the emotional bond was to both of them. Not only was Roxi able to read Loki’s emotions and draw power from him, he was able to do the same to her, developing the ability to change into a fire-cat.
Through her relationship with Loki, Roxi has become a much more outgoing person. Instead of the broken little girl that turned up on their doorstep 20 years ago, she’s now a confident young Werecat with an attitude to rival his.
The rest!!
