Roxi was sat in the park alone; she’d been out on the town with Loki but had convinced him to let her have a few minutes to herself. At the time of asking, she was fine thanks to her embarrassingly low tolerance for alcohol, but due to her high metabolism, she was now sober. With a head ache to boot.
She slumped back against the tree and let the memories rise. Tonight, twenty years ago, her life had been turned upside down. Loki knew this and knew that she’d need to be up to her eyeballs in various alcoholic beverages in order to get through the night, which was exactly what he’d done. He’d taken her to pretty much every club and bar in the city, some that they will never be going to again due to either choice or being thrown out. Nights out with Loki always ended in them getting thrown out of at least one place. Thank the Gods they were always springing up in this city, or they’d soon be out of booze halls to frequent.
She wondered what her parents would have thought of Loki. Not that it mattered; they wouldn’t have met him if they were still around. Hell, it was highly likely that she wouldn’t have met him. But she was sure they wouldn’t have approved of their friendship. Rikki would have hated him. He was too loud and playful, so unlike the people they were used to back in The Moonlit Court it was extraordinary. And they all would have hated what he’d made her too. They wouldn’t have understood what she’d seen in him or why they’d become friends, they wouldn’t have understood that he was exactly what she needed; the total opposite to her old life.
She fished around in her bag and pulled out her purse. Opening it, she looked at the photo of her and her old family. It had never been moved from the window, even when she’d gone through the phase of hating them for leaving her. Maybe it was time to let go of the past? Twenty years was a long time after all. Maybe not for her, it was after all like three for her, but still. It was time she let them rest.
She took out the photo of her and Loki’s family from behind and smiled at the contrast between the two. Her family shot had been a posed portrait, done for the House Residence in Court. Her new family’s was a candid shot at dinner with Loki half way through taking a bite from some pizza. It was so unflattering that she’d had it blown up, printed and framed and given it to Sylvia for her birthday. She’d loved it and had put it pride of place on the mantelpiece. Loki hated it, which made it even better.
She smiled, slid it in front of the other photo, not quite ready to get rid of it completely, and grabbed her phone, sending a quick text to Loki.
Come get me, I’m ready to go home :] xoxo
[/blockquote] She didn’t need to let him know where she was, the emotional link they had would tell him that. He’d just have to follow the pull she’d started by wanting someone here. [/blockquote]

Ethan had generally been having a really good night, he'd been out with Eric and a few of there friends having a general run around town and get TOTALLY plastered night. It was the good kind too, he'd barely spent 5 minutes without a drink in his hand the entire night. Conversational topics had remained light and even though it was a bunch of cats getting drunk no one have managed to annoy him. Well until about half an hour ago which was the reason Ethan was out here now on his own wandering around quite irritated and considering just going home for the night...
Ethan had had a lot to drink but wasn't drunk, darn the were metabolism. He friends where sitting around him in a similar way. Ethan leaned back to get the waitresses attention. It wasn't a bar which brought the drinks to you but if Ethan did not wish to stand. He wouldn't.
“ Hun, nip to the bar and bring us another round. Pronto.”
The waitresses eyes glazed over slightly as Ethan pushed his will onto her. A moment later she skipped off to the bar and returned shortly after to return with the drink. Dennis randomly stood up a few seconds later..
“Dude... Where exactly are you going.”
“Bella wants me home mate, catch you tomorrow.”
Dennis bounced off whilst the rest of the guys laughed at his departing form. Although there was an undercurrent. Out of the nine friends, Dennis was the only one to have found his life mate. And the fact he was running off to go and see her, to there house. That they had together? Just took to remind them all they where still without their mates.
It was if the bunch of them had immediately sobered up or passed into the depressed section of drunkenness.
Ethan stood up and walked towards the back entrance. Leaving his drinks and not even bothering to say goodbye to his friends and Twin. Eric grabbed his arm just before he was leaving. The both felt each other keenly and they both had father breathing down their necks on this very issue. Ethan had always been dubious about having a life mate but feeling Dennis's emotions through the link they shared as friends was starting to make him realise that it wasn't just an end to freedom as he feared. It was the second part of his heart that had always been missing.
To be perfectly honest it was pissing him off.
“Dude, you'll find her eventually. Father will at least be happy that you are finally getting into the right mindset to actually find her. Although I do pity the poor girl who has to keep you in line.”
Eric joked, trying to get him to lighten up, feeling the stress and sadness and wanting to alleviate some of it for his twin. Ethan just pulled away and walked out. Anyone barring Eric would think little else was wrong with him. He had been taught his whole life to hide behind a mask, Even if that meant walking out tonight. He offered his brother a weak smile in thanks and left.
This had all brought him to Hyde park. He loved the park, they always cleared his head. He took a deep breath to get into the nice clean air, better than the stuffy air of the bar he had been occupying. When he breathed in his eyes shot opened straight away.
That was... different. It was like strawberries and sherbet all wrapped into one. No one had ever smelt like that to him before. It was a werecat... and a female. He just KNEW that. He couldn't say how. But he knew.
There was the scent of Vodka there too which just made it even more appealing. He HAD to find its source.
He had never felt a pull quite like it before as he picked up pace and ran full pelt into the park, going too fast for a human but totally uncaring if he was seen by a human or not. The only thing running through his mind was that it wasn't like his father had described... it was much.. much more intense. He had a physical and a mental need to find this woman.
Ethan had been running so fast he went straight past a tree where a girl was sitting. Something however in his mind got him to stop dead in his tracks. He span around and saw a girl sitting their relaxing against a tree and seemingly puzzler by the man that had just ran past her at break neck speed.
He took in her appearance and was stunned.. she was perfect in every way, down to the colour of her eyes and the way her hair fell around her face. Even the smile that seemed packed with much more emotion than anything he had ever seen before in his life. He was utterly lost for her within a matter of seconds and all he could think about was that he had to get to know her... every little thing no matter how pointless. He needed it all.
Ethan Kavanagh, Prince of House Kavanagh... First in line to succeed to the throne. The most respected Prince and the son of the most Respected king the Moonlit court had had... managed to come out with one thing....
“Hi.”
Oh how suave. [/blockquote]

Roxi smiled as, two seconds after sending the text, she heard running feet. Trust Loki to completely over react and panic. She’d even put a smile on the text, something she rarely did, in order to show that she was okay. Plus, she’d been sending him bits of her tranquil state. Then again, maybe he’d assumed she was forcing it and had decided to come to her rescue. Or maybe he’d been thinking of some waiter or waitress at what he considered to be her time of need and was now feeling guilty. Yeah, that one was most likely.
As the running Loki shot past her, she laughed. ”Gods, I only just test you! Were you hiding in the bushes or something?”
She shook her head and jumped up, managing not to flash the foliage. Quite an accomplishment in her mind considering she was wearing what could only be described as a pleated belt and hooker heels, as chosen by Loki, of course. Sometimes have cat like grace was a necessity.
She dusted herself off and knelt down to pick up her bag, stopping with her hand on the straps when she felt it.
That pull. An emotional and almost physical pull. A need to be closer to the person stood behind her. That is most definitely not Loki… She stood up slowly, her heart beat raising uncontrollably. She’d found him! She’d actually found – Okay, he’d found her, but the result was the same. Her missing piece was stood behind her, the guy she was literally made to be with. She felt giddy with excitement; it was all she could do not to run to whoever it was and jump into their arms. No, she’d better not do that. It wasn’t how she wanted him to meet her. She took a deep breath, taking in the scent of the guy she’d spend the rest of her life with. He smelled heavenly, a mixture of apples and cinnamon, so warm and inviting. And there was something else there too … Power. Power? That last one took her off guard. She remembered that smell it was imprinted on her brain. But he smelt different. She’d heard people say that he smelt like a fresh kill, but to her he smelt like death and decay. Totally different to what she could smell now, but that single smell was there and it linked the two. She turned around, closing her eyes and praying to The Fates, God and every other higher power there might be, hoping with every fibre in her being that she was wrong. And knowing with equal conviction that she wasn’t. She opened her eyes and looked into the eyes of her Life Mate, and that of her families killer. ”Oh shite. She didn’t know what to do. Logically, she knew it wasn’t him. If it were, she’d have felt the link between the tow of them twenty years ago today. She knew it was his twin, and if she looked closely she could see the slight differences in his appearance. Rationally, she knew that he wouldn’t hurt her, that he couldn’t. As a Life mate it was nigh impossible; he’d feel everything that she felt through the empathetic link they now shared. She knew all of this, but didn’t matter. Her human mind had been sent to the background and all her thinking was now being done by the animal part of her. And it wanted to run. It just didn’t know whether to run into his arms or away from him. She took a step back, glancing around f or the rest of his family. They couldn’t be far, the Brat Prince was never allowed out of Court without his entourage. And that meant Eric was close by. If he saw her, he’d kill her; he’d promised her that when he’d thrown her out of The Moonlit Court. She had no choice. She bolted. As she ran, she fumbled around her bag looking for her phone. As she searched, most of the other things she had in there flew out, including her purse. She stopped momentarily; wanting to retrieve it then sped on realising that her life was more important than a sodding photograph. Finally, she found her phone and quickly rang out. ”Please, please pick up. Please! Pick up the phone dammit!” She muttered to the dial tone, knowing Loki was likely to be ignoring his phone as he occasionally did. She sent a large dose of her panic down their link to him and he picked up. ”What’s up?””They’ve found me. Ethan’s here. He’s m f*cking Life Mate” She hung up the phone, hearing Loki put his foot down, then turned sharply to face her Mate. She threw her shields up, knowing full well what his powers were. After all, who didn’t? She needed all the damn protection she needed … She’d called in the back up, all she needed to do now was wait. She took her lighter for her bag and flicked it repeatedly, testing it; it’s know when Loki was close. She wasn’t a little girl any more. She wasn’t going to run away. She had enough fire power to fight this thing and, dammit, she was going to.[/blockquote]

“Oh shite.”
And she ran, Bloody fast as well. All Ethan could logically thing about was how her retreating form felt like some one had just torn at him from the inside. It took a few seconds for him to get past the pain it had caused and that he had to follow her and had to go after her. It had barely been a few seconds since they had met but he was starting to get bits of her emotions raging in his mind, fear... anger... confusion. Anger was starting to take control. Ethan was just confused and the pain was killing him. He cut off all of his emotions from people within the courts, even his father. It was something he was very skilled in, his father had been teaching him since birth. He had warned him however – he would never be able to hide it from his mate. Right now however he highly doubted she was feeling him very well.
Things from her bag where flying out right left and centre. Ethan just dodged them trying not to trip over. Until her purse fell out. For reasons unbeknownst to him he actually stopped and picked that item up. Loosing a bit of the ground that he had been gaining on her. Cursing himself for picking it up when there was no point to it. When he had it in his hands however he felt it had importance, not to him. But for her. Ethan shook his head before he broke out into his top speed.
He could hear her dialling some one. Ethan was confused, she must of felt the connection, she was a were so it was as ingrained into her as it was him... yet she was running and apparently calling for help?
“Please, please pick up. Please! Pick up the phone dammit!”
He heard her begging into the phone and it one made him push harder. They where going deeper into the park and further out of the way where humans may stumble upon them. Nothing however would of prepared him for what he heard next. He was close enough to hear the person on the other end of the phone.
“What’s up?”
Nothing could stop the snarl that tore from his chest. She was running from him, to another man...
“They’ve found me. Ethan’s here. He’s m f*cking Life Mate”
That made him slow down.. They? Who where they? And she knew who he was. Well that wasn't overly surprising. Pretty much everyone knew exactly who he was. No-one acted like this though. And she had felt the connection, she knew that he was her life mate and she was swearing about it and running into the arms of another man?
She then stopped, Ethan came to a skidding halt a few steps behind her. He would of ran closer but he couldn't guarantee his anger was in check and that he might last out or come across as angry mad man. It was well know the royal line had very... very short tempers. He pinched the Bridge of his nose and tried to clear his head. Pushing her mix of feelings down and putting his effort into controlling his anger which was getting a little out of hand now it was channelling itself into random items around him with his powers. Making rocks and stones twitch and move in blatant unnatural formations as his telekinesis took the brunt of his power.
She was on the defensive.. but he could never hurt her. It was impossible for him to even consider it so he was completely at a loss as to why this was happening now. Father had never even given him the idea that something like this might even happen! Father had not mentioned anything about the person he was made for could possibly flee away from him in terror and then stand against him in anger and defence? Ethan was having serious trouble getting all of this through his mind, his emotions where a mess and he had to wonder if she was even feeling them. She had a shield against him.
Shield... that was a trait of an old house. A dead house. It was an ability a few had but one House had mastered it perfectly and practically every one within the house had it. Similar to how most of the sons of House Kavanagh had a gift of direct mental manipulation. But he couldn't put his finger on it, and he was sure Father had mentioned that that house had been wiped out. Ethan Snr had never gone into detail...
“Why... what? Why are you trying to fight me and run away from me?”
Ethan's thick accent came out more pronounced that usual, it always did when he had a hint of anger in his voice and the fact she was running to another man was still fuelling that. He took a tentative step forward – scared that she was going to bolt all over again. Or even try and attack him or something similar.
“Would you calm down and just wait for a moment. You know what is happening here why are you running to another man?” At the last sentence any general objects within a few feet of him moved suddenly and jerked, and some slammed very hard into the ground. Not moving any where near Roxi for fear he may hurt her.[/blockquote]

Roxi stumbled back as she looked around saw him closer than she had thought, channelling all her emotions into fortifying her shields. She didn’t want him to force his will on her; it would be too dangerous. She could feel his frustration and anger, his confusion, and she wanted to go to him, make it better, but she knew she couldn’t. It was making her heart hurt to do it, but she had to stay away from him. After all this time hoping to find her Mate, she’d found him. And she had to stay away.
Maybe he was different. Maybe he wouldn’t hurt her. Hell, he couldn’t! But that didn’t stop his family from doing slaughtering her in front of the court, making a spectacle out of her just like they had her family. How dare she, a Fallen cat from a marked family, even think to be Life Mates with the heir to the throne?
Yeah, they’d definitely make a show out of her death.
“Why... what? Why are you trying to fight me and run away from me?” She could hear anger in his voice, making his accent thicker, and it felt like a physical blow to her. She clutched at her stomach and squirmed uncomfortably.
She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. It shouldn’t be like this. It just shouldn’t. Her Mum had always said that her Life Mate would be perfect for her in every way, like it was for her and Dad. They had had to go through a lot, but it was all worth it in the end. She’d always said that. All the trouble, the discrimination, everything, it had all been worth it. She got to wake up in the morning, next to her Mate and she knew there was no one who could make her feel like he did. He completed her in every single way.
That was what Roxi had wanted. It was what she had grown up expecting and what she had given up on as soon as she was thrown out of Court.
And it seemed that she could completely give up on it now. She’d never be able to have that with Ethan. No one would let her have it.
“Would you calm down and just wait for a moment. You know what is happening here, why are you running to another man?”
Okay, now she was mad again. Her head shot up and she flicked her lighter faster, glaring at him. How dare he tell her to calm down?! ”You think I’m running to another man? You actually think that? First off, who the hell do you think you are to talk to me like that? So you’re the Prince, whoop-de-doo! It means jack to people who aren’t in your Court any more. Secondly, you know full well that I can’t run to another man like that. Just cuz you can jump into bed with any woman you please doesn’t mean that I can do the same. You are the only person that I can be with in any way other than plutonic. Hell, I’m finding it difficult not to run to you right now. But, I have some sense, so I’m not.
“You want to know why I’m going against my very nature and standing here defending myself against you? Take a look around, hunni, you’re making the world tremble.
“And, whilst I’m on it, this man I’m running to, he’s my brother. The one that wasn’t killed. You should meet him, he’s a blast” She flicked her lighter even faster, mentally screaming at Loki to get his backside here so she can start throwing fire balls at Ethan. She could feel him getting closer, but it wasn’t close enough. She took deep breaths, taking the warmth out of the fire and shoving it around her. Soon, the air was as hot as it would be during the summer, at the expense of her lighter. She growled in frustration as the gas ran out and threw it to the floor, pacing as she fished out her matches from her bag; even with half the contents strewn over the park, it was blood difficult to find anything in it. When she eventually found the, she started flaring them up and stopped pacing. One match after the other was lit and thrown to the ground in frustration. Where the hell was he? She started pacing again, wondering how the hell The Fates could be so cruel to her. What the hell had she done? Wasn’t it enough that they’d given her twin a vampyre? They had to give her her twin’s killer’s twin. Not only was it so confusing it was making her head hurt, it was also bloody plain mean. She flared up another match and this time, instead of the heat going into the air, it burnt brighter and larger. She stopped pacing and whirled around, searching. The she finally spotted him. Running full pelt towards them was Loki, and he didn’t look best pleased. [/blockquote]

Ethan just stood rather stunned as she practically ranted at him. No one ever spoke to him like that... and to be honest it annoyed him that no one did. He could say the most idiotic things and any one would agree with him... he had tried it on many occasions. But something about this just seemed... right, ignoring the fact she was yelling at him about the fact he was likely to run off with another woman. Something which he had never even considered to be perfectly honest. With his position it was practically impossible. Any women who propositioned him where likely doing it to get their name in the right crowds, or that when he found his mate they could point out they had been there first.
He couldn't say anything bad about what she was saying however. This position was never made public so thinking he was jumping in bed with any one that came a long was a given. It still hit him like a physical blow.
He glanced around at the area around him and it wasn't surprising that he was making everything tremble. He had his own anger and hers coursing through him and it had to bleed out some where. His abilities where always the obvious venting place. He was also utterly confused about the brother comment? Wasn't killed. Ethan was getting the idea he was seriously missing out on some important information here. He noted the way she flicked the lighter and actually took a step back to try and give her some space.
“Its a shocker the world isn't doing more than that with what is currently going on, I'm holding in yours and my own anger here and I am still completely confused as to what exactly is going on!” She ran out of matches and Ethan ran his hand through his hair. Putting effort into stopping his ability from running all over the place. Pulling it inside and using the excess energy to mask his feelings and emotions from his family and the court. He knew he probably couldn't mask anything from her because of their connection but he tried to at least a little. He was confused right now and projecting that onto her probably wasn't going to help matters any. He was trying to think of a way to diffuse the situation. He had often been told he had a silver tongue and it wasn't always to do with his ability. He could talk his way out of any situation. Father had however warned him that everything was different when it came to his mates. That his suggestion ability most likely would not work on her and that she would see who he really was rather that the person he had to be in the courts like his mother saw his father. So far however that really didn't seem to be working, she obviously had issue with the Kavanagh house and it was currently keeping her away from him. Ethan had managed to go rapidly from serious anger to smashing depression in around four seconds flat. His face staying practically the same as he was still masking his emotions. It was a complete reflex reaction by this time in his life. He tried to block them from the girl who seemingly already hated him but wasn't sure how it was working. Just as he was about to speak again the fire in her hands flared to life causing his eyes to widen slightly. At which point he looked in the direction she was staring. And saw a man running full pelt towards them... he really did not look impressed. Ethan's first reaction was simple. Protect his mate, he went on the defensive again, a snarl ripping from his throat.[/blockquote]

Loki was following the pull of Roxi after getting her text, taking the drive pretty slow and giving her a little more time to herself. It was a full 20 years since her family had been killed. Although Loki knew all the ins and outs generally he was sure there where parts of her old life that she kept close to the chest. When he thought of royalty he though of the Luce. And some of the things she said didn't fit with out they did things. Loki however really didn't want to push the subject until she was ready for it. He'd at least learnt some subtlety in the last 20 years... well. Kinda.
His phone started ringing but the bloody thing was sitting in the back seat. He glanced around trying to find a place to park to retrieve his phone. Shortly after a smash of fear and anger hit him, nearly causing him to melt the wheel under his hands. He slammed himself into a parking space ignoring everything and any one who was yelling at him. He grabbed his phone as fast as he could knowing it would be Roxi.
“What's up?” “They’ve found me. Ethan’s here. He’s m f*cking Life Mate” Loki chucked the seat into the back of his car and slammed the car forward, going through gears faster than the car was probably built, but he really didn't care. He went though traffic very quickly and even curbing the car several times until they came to the park. Instead of running into the park, he turned the car onto the grass. Driving as far as he could until he had to fly out of the car. He ran towards the two figures he could vaguely make out, seeing them both of the defensive. He had gotten pretty good at knowing cats when they where in this type of stances. He narrowed his eyes and his hands burst into fire with terrible speed. Life mates? Seriously, they really seemed to make no sense. Ethan, from what he knew was the brother of the man who killed her family. The TWIN brother of that man. So she was expected to marry and spend the rest of her life with a man who looked like the man who destroyed her family!? It was ridiculous for one. He ran Straight for Ethan and tackled the cat to the ground, taking the shock of the situation to his advantage. He went to slam him into the ground with all of his strength, which due to his current anger was very high. “Get out of her Rox!” Loki raised his fist still covered in flame to punch Ethan square in the face. Intent on at least holding him up long enough for Roxi to get away and hopefully get rid of this man so he would never dare darken their door again.[/blockquote]

Roxi whipped around as she heard Ethan snarl under his breath. She glared at him, feeling his sudden protectiveness and struck another match, preparing to toast his ass for being so idiotic. She was, however, stopped by doing this as Loki tackled him to the ground.
“Get out of here Rox!”
Rox stood up straight and snarled at him. Not only had he just attacked her Life Mate, causing her some considerable pain, he’d told her to run, after having spent the last twenty years training her to fight. Hell, he’d been training her for exactly this! Okay, maybe not exactly this, but the situation was similar, just with added magick.
She threw a fire ball at Loki, whining as she nearly hit Ethan too. This was not going to work, if she threw anything out to stop them, she’d hit one of them. She screamed in frustration at the pair of them. She let all the heat out of the air, then took the replacement chill and threw it at Loki, hoping to stop him from hurting her Mate; only she should be allowed to do that.
As Loki slammed Ethan to the ground, Roxi’s knees gave way with the pain it caused. This was something that she hadn’t expected, her mother had only ever told her about the emotional side of things. But then again, her parents had never been in a place to discover this side of things.
She had a brief moment when she hoped that her brother’s mate had felt everything that he’d had done to him; it’d serve the parasite right.
As she hit the ground, her shields faltered, causing her to feel all of Ethan’s and Loki’s emotions tenfold. She felt the anger and hate bubbling up inside her, the confusion and concern. She felt everything as if it were wax being dropped on her skin, but far from being sensual it hurt. She screamed out, pushing her shields back up, completely cutting the pair of them off. She was sure that they’d feel the absence like a blow, but at that moment she didn’t care. She felt them leave and it left her with an odd sort of calm, as if someone had shot her full of novocaine.
For a few seconds, she felt the peace and smiled, then it all went black.

Ethan felt the air rush out of him as the elemental smashed him into the ground. The snarl tore from his chest as he felt the pain tear through the newly found connection between him and his mate. He needed to get over to her but he couldn't due to the man above him.
He had to try and put a little of what was going on around him and concentrate on the fight that seemed to be inevitable. Obviously the man had no intention of hurting Roxi directly but the idiot obviously didn't know the fact that he was causing her pain by attacking Ethan. Unintentionally he sent out the call for Eric through their link. Only letting up to the fact that he was in a fight. He didn't point out that he had found his mate or Eric would let Father know. Things where too up in the air now to bring Father into this...
“Get out of here Rox!
Ethan snarled again at the elemental, dodging the fist that came towards his face. Feeling the area around him chill dramatically which was strange seeing as since the man had tackled him he had felt as if some one had thrown him into a sauna. The cool was a welcome relief. He channelled he force into slamming the man off of him to get some room so he could fight him. Ethan was fast, very fast, but he was all but useless when he was pinned down in such a fashion.
He got some distance between him and the Elemental only to feel as if some one had smashed a post into his head. Everything going woozy for a moment. He pushed the thought back and span and aimed a kick straight for the other man's chest. Using his telekinesis to knock the man off balance at the same time. He glanced towards Roxi feeling the dizzyness strike through his mind again, realising why as she crumpled to the floor.
The snarl this time was something more akin to a roar as it tore free from his chest. Placing the blame of his mates state on the man in front of him.
At the same time Ethan roared, Eric sped from the bushes. A look of blatant shock crossing his face at the state of anger Ethan seemed to be showing. Eric knew it was very unlike him, so he picked up pace, coming up behind the Elemental attacking his brother and forcing his ability into him. Alighting all the pain sensors of his brain and giving the impression he was being torn apart. Eric differed quite a bit from Ethan, he had always tried to keep this part of him hidden from his twin, mostly at Fathers request.
Ethan may be set to be king one day but Father wanted him away from Eric's line of work for as long as possible. Hopefully longer if possible. He felt bad hiding so much from his brother but that was generally what royalty did.

Loki sighed dramatically as Roxi did everything but run. He had been training her to fight but as far as he was concerned this was something she really should not have to deal with at any point in her life. He wanted her to be able to defend herself but he didn't want her getting into fights with people like the man he currently had pinned.
His punch didn't make contact, causing Loki to practically growl in irritation at the cat beneath him. Before he had much of a chance to aim another hit he was thrown back and away from him, putting space between the two. Although he had had little dealing with cats he knew it was far easier to fight them up close and personal and not give them the opportunity to use their speed to their advantage. It was betting to go hard and fast straight away and get in as much power as possible.
Before he could however he glanced over to Roxi as she crumpled to the floor. He had no idea why and he turned to run straight for her, needing to help her and get her away from this man. The night had been going so well he hadn't even though this could happen in a million years.
“ROX!” Before he could move however he was thrown off balance and kicked square in the chest, yelling in irritation his hands blazed to life again. He raised his hands to hurl a fire ball to wards Ethan but was stopped short by the worst pain tearing straight through his body. For the first few seconds he stayed perfectly silent before dropping to the floor to his knees. However staying silent was entirely impossible. A scream tore from his chest as he felt like his entire body was being torn apart from the inside with nothing he could do about it in the slightest. He couldn't see his attackers and there was no ones hands on him so he didn't know where he could channel the pain to attack them back. He glanced towards Roxi and found the strength to stay away and conscious as he tore the ground up around him using his terrapathic ability. One that he never used in public, even Roxi and never seen him utilise this ability but it cracked the ground around him as he poured his pain into the ground around it, trying to keep it away from Roxi entirely. Roxi woke up to Loki screaming in pain. She jumped up immediately and threw up her shields as panic took hold of her. She quickly scanned the area, trying to find what had caused him so much pain. Ethan couldn’t do anything that caused that much pain without doing some serious lifting and she knew that he wasn’t. She didn’t know how, she just knew.
She looked around at the ground as it ripped apart, causing her to jump back in panic. What the hell is doing this?! She was positive that it wasn’t Ethan, he didn’t have that kind of power. That was reserved for … Terra elementals. Her head snapped to where Loki was, looking him in the eye. For that brief second, she didn’t know who her brother was. He’d hidden this power from her for so long, what else had he hidden from her? As the next round of pain took his body, she knew that it didn’t matter. She had to deal with that betrayal later, all that mattered now was stopping him from hurting. She looked around for the source of her brother’s pain and saw Ethan’s face twisted in rage, staring straight at him. ”Ethan? Ethan stop! Please! Stop!!” She darted forward, raising her hand to place it on his shoulder. Before she made contact, however, he made eye contact with her, making her blood run cold. ”It’s you …” She backed up in blind panic, stumbling over the upturned ground. She fumbled around on the ground and found her lighter, flicking it quickly and whimpering quietly as she remembered the lack of gas. All these years, all the training she’d gone through, all of it; forgotten as she stared into the eyes that had haunted her nightmares for twenty years. She flicked her lighter again, this time taking the spark and enlarging it. It grew rapidly to the size of a golf ball, a tennis ball, a foot ball, growing until it reached it’s maximum size. She threw it into the air and used it’s brief distraction to drag Loki to a safer distance. She knelt next to him and kissed his forehead, apologizing repeatedly for bringing him into this. She threw her shields wider, covering both her and her big brother. Know she knew what she was up against, it was paramount that she kept him safe. Eric could cause someone so much pain that they could literally rip their skin off and not notice. She knew this, not from experience, but from watching him do the very same to her twin. The pain it caused her was something she could never forget. She watched as he moved his way closer to her, determined. He’d let her escape once; he wasn’t about to let it happen again. She looked down at her brother once more and knew what she had to do. She wasn’t about to let another family member die because of her mistake. She hugged him quickly, and whispered in his ear ”Tell Mum and Dad I’m sorry. I love you…She stood up quickly and for the second time that night bolted, hoping to lead Eric away. There was no point fighting him; he couldn’t use his powers on her, but that wasn’t likely to stop him from causing her pain. [/blockquote]

When her hand nearly made contact with his shoulder Ethan practically calmed in an instant. His own emotions going out of the windows and being utterly replaces with hers, a need to protect the man screaming under the influence of his brothers powers.
“It’s you …”
He shook his head trying to bring himself back but her words just rang through his mind... Fear at his own brother. That wasn't his own emotion. There where few things in life that Ethan feared and his brother was most certainly not one of them.
“Ethan? Ethan stop! Please! Stop!!”
He glanced to what he had assumed was a Fuococian and to his brother again. Confused that the earth seemed to be affected by a fire elemental. Something he knew to be impossible. Also looking at his twins face he saw something he never expected. He honestly had never looked into his abilities or powers and had never asked about his job. Father had forbidden it completely and utterly and when he did that there was no arguing with father. Now however looking into the twisted face of his brother as he looked upon his wife he wished he had disobeyed father. There were too many things happening which didn't make sense.
“Eric what are you doing?! Get back away from her.” Eric sneered back not taking his eyes of her form as his attention was distracted from the elemental, letting his power drop and turning his attention to his brother. The cat wouldn't get far and the Elemental was at least disabled for the time being. No one just stood up after that. Few people where even still moving after that so the fact the Elemental was even still breathing was some what of a testament to his abilities. Although the fact he seemed to be showing a blatent split in abilities was strange in itself. The think might be useful to Eric when trained. “Ethan. Go home to father. I Have work to do. This wretch is a traitor to the throne and you know father forbids you knowing of my duties.” Ethan staggered as if physically hit by his brother. He knew his intention – it was clearly written on his face. He knew his brother favoured the hunt over himself... but this was different. And the way he was looking at his mate brought his anger slamming back into the fore front of his mind. Eric couldn't read his thoughts like he could every one else's, just as Ethan's power washed of him so Eric had no idea what was actually going on between Ethan and Roxi. Ethan just felt a need to get her away from his own brother, some one who should want to protect his mate as closely as he would protect his own when he founds her. Not looking at her like a midnight snack... “Eric you will not lay a finger on her and if you dare touch her with your ability I swear of fathers name you will live to regret it.” Confusion crossed Eric's face for a moment, Ethan never spoke like this. He never spoke with anger and he never threatened any one. He didn't need to.. he had nothing he cared about enough TO yell at him in anger. Ethan could talk his way out of anything and never resorted to anger ever. Eric was a bit confused at the situation, Father had spoken to him and his other brothers about what could happen to Ethan in the next several years. One was his abilities. His father had not mentioned the fact that he would grow a proper back bone to the likes of his brothers. When it came down to it Ethan was always the softest out of all of them. He was the one most suited to the throne whilst he and his brothers where suited to other tasks. Such as the one he was trying to go about just now. “Tell Mum and Dad I’m sorry. I love you…”At that point Roxi bolted, Ethan felt it before he saw it and immediately took of after her. Practically within the same moment she had deciede to run. Ethan had too keep her safe.. apparently from his own brother. Another point of tonight which was confusing him to no ends. Today was probably one of the strangest days Ethan had every experienced in his entire life. Although he had led somewhat of a sheltered life he sincerely hoped that every day was not like this one. He was being pulled from so many sides and barely had chance to feel anything. Eric laughed at them before casually walking over to Loki, putting his foot on the weakened man's neck before he could have a chance to recover yet. Fire was boiling up in Loki's arm as he was trying to call up an elemental animal. Eric put a stop to that by pushing down roughly on his neck, making sure Roxi was still in hearing distance. “Roxanne my dear! You should know by now. Why on earth would I ever go in for the kill when I could go for the hurt?” Eric laughed again as he forced his ability onto Loki again, Ethan stopped dead in his tracks and Loki's screams tore through the air again, the elemental animal dissipating from his palms and the earth trembling and cracking around them again. If it weren't for their cat like agility they may of his the floor by now. It was getting difficult to find purchase on the shaking ground. “Eric Stop this RIGHT now.” Ethan yelled as loud as he could, but it wasn't the volume of his voice that startled Eric. It was the smash of pure raw power that came with it. Eric was flung a foot away from Loki and slammed to his knees in such a swift move Eric felt like he had whip lash. Coupled with the fact Ethan's ability had worked with perfect clarity on him was enough to shake his confidence some. At best Ethan had rarely been able to influence other supernatural... only humans. This was an entire new level of suggestion. Eric couldn't move a muscle. Ethan let go of the tenuous hold, masking his emotions from the court and let them slam through with such perfect clarity it made Eric's eyes water. Letting every person in the courts know he had found his life mate. [/blockquote]

Rox could hear the foot steps behinds her and thought that she had managed it. It wasn’t until she felt Ethan that she knew it hadn’t worked. If I keep running, Ethan will follow. Eric will have to. Just keep going! She ran as fast as she could until a scream filled the air. “Roxanne my dear! You should know by now. Why on earth would I ever go in for the kill when I could go for the hurt?” She whipped around in horror in time to see Loki scream in pain again. In that moment, everything stopped and she was back in The Great Hall twenty years ago, watching Eric kill her parents all over again. It wasn’t how she remembered it, how she’d forced herself to remember it. There was more pain, more blood. Her mother screaming and killing herself to get from Eric’s hold. Her father broken and sobbing on the floor, unable to shield his mate and son. Her brother’s spine showing from the lashes on his back and his ribs from where he’d clawed at himself. Twenty years of denial, lost the second she saw it happening again. She whimpered, feeling the arms of the guards holding her back, completely rooted to the spot. She couldn’t move to save Rikki then and she couldn’t now to save Loki. Tears streamed down her face as she watched her both her brothers die at the hands of the same man. ”Please … Oh gods, please. Not again. Please, no, stop!” She screamed out, knowing it was futile. After all, this was what Eric wanted to happen. Sensing her growing distress and suffering, Ethan shouted out to his brother, “Eric, stop this RIGHT now.” Nothing could stop her from flinching towards him as the power of his command shot through the air. She’d never felt anything like it and she could feel from him that he’d never experienced it either. His powers had grown and reached new heights, one that neither he nor his brother had expected. She saw the shock on Eric’s face as he was forced away from Loki’s lifeless form. Not caring whether the hold would last, she ran to her brother and pulled all that she could fit of him into her lap, just like so many years before. She drew the heat out of the air, the ground, even herself and threw it into Loki. She had to keep him warm, she just had to. He’d never been cold in all his life, he couldn’t be cold now. Not because of her. Not again. ”Loki, please wake up. Please. Don’t make me go through this again without you. Please. You’re meant to be stronger than this, than him. Please! Just wake up! I’ll go shopping and go on that stupid spa day, I’ll even pay, just please. Wake. Up.” She sat there, cradling his torso and talking into his hair. She threw all of the heat of her body into his and rocking him gently, not caring about the burns she was causing herself. ”Roxi, Shut uppa your face…” The voice was so weak that at first she thought she imagined it. She looked down and saw Loki grinning weakly up at her and it was all she could do not to hug him, but she was starting to feel the burns on her arms and legs now, and was pretty sure that she’d burnt her stomach too. She moved herself out from under him, channelling all her emotion into the one that could actually help her; rage. ”Don’t you dare do that to me again. You die, and so help me gods, I will bring you back just to kill you all over again.” She stood up again and looked over to where Eric was finally breaking free of Ethan’s hold. She realised then that she couldn’t afford to get so wrapped up in grief anymore, everything she felt went straight to Ethan and he hadn’t had years of experience in handling it. Grief ended up making your powers weak, rage made them stronger. She walked over to Eric, keeping a decent distance away. She knew her shields were strong against him, if they weren’t, she’d have been the one on the floor. And because of the powers she had, she was safe, but at the expense of her family once more. ”You have so picked the wrong family to torture.” She spread her arms wide and hoped to the gods that this worked. Ethan’s powers had increased, so maybe … ? She drew the heat from her burns and focused it on a speck of dust hovering above her palms. Quickly, they started to burn, each growing to the size of a grenade. She laughed quietly, totally absorbed in the new level of power she had, briefly wondering how her shields power would increase. ”Roxanne, stop! I’ll handle this” She could feel the power of Ethan’s words but far from affecting her the way he wanted, they just made her spine tingle. She doused the fire in her palms and turned to glare at her Life Mate, who was now running full pelt towards them both. ”Did you just … Please tell me you didn’t just try to control me, cuz that is not going to end well for you if you did!” She watched as confusion flicked briefly over Ethan’s features and this time, instead of feeling bad about it, she smiled. ”Guess you and me have a lot to learn about each other.” She restarted the fire in her palms and started towards the now fighting twins, only to walk head first into a thick wall of ice.[/blockquote]

Patrick was driving around the city looking out for any stray and stupid Pyro’s who might be walking the streets. Rufus had warned him that Cameron was sending out dozens of men to find and dispose of him. They didn’t stand a chance against him of course but it gave him a good chance to work on developing his powers.
The ground began to shake beneath the Aston and Patrick caught a wave of anguish coming from his 6 O’clock.
‘’It’s nothing to do with me’’ he told himself. It wasn’t his job to help every stray Terra in trouble.
Then it happened again and Patrick recognised the signature of the mental cry. It was Loki! And he was getting a pasting. Prudence fought with his code of honour within him. But there was only one thing he knew he could do. Grabbing the wheel and the break Pat pulled an extraordinarily fast handbreak turn and then roared off in the direction of Loki.
By now Patrick had locked on to Loki and knew he was deep in Hyde park. Throttling up on the big V8 Patrick rammed the park gates and burst straight through. Flying across the grass he stopped the car in a stand of bushes.
As he got out Pat was confronted by a werecat on his right, but an ice block to the head soon dealt with it. Pat then crept forward through the bushes to survey the situation.
Loki was layed out on the ground and if Pat couldn’t read minds he may have thought him dead. Roxi was stood over him glaring at what he assumed to be a pair of twins. Probing their minds Pat realised the situation and couldn’t stand by while Roxi faced it practically alone.
Throwing his hands up Patrick drew all of the water out of the nearby Ponds and fountains. He held it in the air for a moment and froze it into a thirty feet long wall of ice.
He then saw Roxi with fire in her hands begin to walk toward the twin were cats. It was time to intercede and Pat dropped the ice wall down straight in front of Roxi. She hit it head first and looked around confusedly.
‘’Would anyone care to tell me what the fek I just got myself into?’’

Loki was dizzy... and oh god that bloody hurt. What on earth was with that guy!? Seriously there was something very very wrong with him to have a gift like that. He'd been completely helpless. He'd never been helpless. Out cast and ignored yes. Helpless? Never and it was not something he ever wanted to feel every again. He was just coming back to being awake and wass starting to get a hold of his surroundings.
Wait. Was that a huge wall of.. Ice?
And... Was that Patrick?
Well that really didn't make any sense. He was being tortured by twins... one who wanted to love his sister and the other who wanted to kill her... and not there was a puzzled ice elemental standing over him. He blinked a few times... wondering if he was actually still unconscious and just hallucinating all of this... as it really... really made no sense.
“Would anyone care to tell me what the fek I just got myself into?’’
Loki burst out laughing, but around 1 second in it turned into a hacking cough. He turned to the side to spit out the blood which had accumulated. Turning his nose up and cringing at the lovely taste. He ran his hand across his face as he focused in on Patrick.
“Well... you walked into a dramatic turn of event that are utterly beyond the word sense it is laughable! When did you get here anyway.” He glanced around still a bit confused... the wall of ice was rally distracting. The ground was also torn to pieces and every few minutes or so there where small after shocks still shaking the ground. Giving Loki the reason for what Patrik had probably shown it. Loki had probably torn up half the part and scared the crap out of a lot of people. He did however grin brightly at Patrik when it came to that... “Did the earth move and make you think of me there Pat?” He laughed again, Loki was always good at making light of such situations, he was king of it. He glanced towards Rox and dropped his gaze practically straight away. This wasn't the way he had planned on telling her about his other gift. The one he was more ashamed of than anything ever. Rox had never questioned why Loki never seemed to be with other Elementals... it had just never brought it up and it might of just been that she didn't know enough about the fallen to realise that there where very few who spend time on their own. He pulled himself into a sitting position, managing to stave of the coughing this time. But sighed anyway about the fact that every bone in his body still hurt. “Ow.” [/blockquote]
